A new adventure - Book production for my third novel starts soon!

Much like the hero in the TG-16 game Neutopia, I'm about to start a the next phase in my (publishing) journey! The revisions in response to editor's comments for my third novel are due in a week and I am nearly done. The next phase will be interior layout work and beginning discussions about cover design. I'm excited about these next steps because they make me feel like the book is taking shape in a very real sense. I have a video meeting with the Apprentice House Press team next week, so I'll have a better handle on what's to come. More details will be in next month's update.

I was part of a round table with two other writers on the Author Adjacent podcast. The episode is scheduled to go live very soon and I'll post a link in under the Media tab. I'll have more to say about it next month when the show is posted.

Since I've shared the title in a few places, I'll also say here that the title for this next book is An Alchemy that Kills. A cover reveal will happen when there is something exciting to share, mostly likely in early 2027.

I'm also finalizing details for my attendance at a local book fair. I had a really good experience with it last year and hoping for a repeat. Again, more details will be shared in October.

Since there is no hiding from the discussion, and more and more authors are picking sides, I added my anti-AI statement to the Author tab. I've made my stance clear here before and on a couple podcast episodes, but I think it was important to have something more permanent visible. I do not support AI of any kind in the arts, and all of my creative work will be exclusively human made (by me). There are many videos and essays out there that can make the case to be anti-AI (Brandon Sanderson has an especially good one), so I won't try to duplicate that here. Just know that if you read any of my short stories or novels that they are made 100% by me with no AI whatsoever for any part of the creative process.

As a small addendum, all the photos used in update posts on this website are my own. I own the actual books, board games, video games, etc. that are used for post images.

Short update this month, but I expect that the one for October will be quite a bit bigger.
